The rate of Unemployment

Due to the relationship between COVID-19, Hong Kong's unemployment rate reached its highest point in nearly 16 years, reaching 6.6% in the last quarter of 2020. During this period, more than 245,000 people have lost their jobs. The most affected is the rise in unemployment in the food service industry. To 13.8%, followed by consumption and tourism, the United States increased by 1.1%-10%, and finally the retail industry increased by 0.6%-8.3%. By the beginning of 2022's, 206,100 people will be unemployed.

Although the problem of unemployment can be solved with the support of the government, it is not completely solved. For example, "the government will spend 235 billion yuan on infrastructure and public works projects in the next five years, which is more time-consuming. 50% more investment in the seven-year Jiyang core project. These plans will provide about 60,000 jobs in the next 18 months. The start date is moved forward by two to five months, so that about 530 more jobs can be created by the end of this year or early next year. We will continue to try to speed up the progress of other engineering projects to create more employment opportunities as soon as possible.” Sometimes not every unemployed person is suitable, will it waste public money or not help at all?
